Igate Interview Question
Technical ArchitectsCountry: India
Interview Type: In-Person
I can't say about YOUR application. Generally, it's not necessarily preferred. It depends on the application.
The normally arises when you are explaining basic design/architecture of your application (while explaining about your work/achievements). So, if your application can be written in C++ as well as JAVA. Interviewer wants you to explain in terms for deciding a technology and need to prove JAVA was better for your application.
In generic question, you may tell difference between JAVA and C++ OR JAVA's advantages over C++. But for specific application not all advantages will work OR in some situation C++ might be better than JAVA. Then you have to be ready for counter argument/questions coming in from interviewer side that you should have used C++ here.
So, this question is very specific in architectural point.
You can't drink C++.
