Java and Javascript both are object oriented languages but javascript is not a pure object oriented....
Javascript is a script languages which can be interpreted only by a browser... So we can use javascript only for web application development...
Where java is a language you can use anywhere this language(Ex: Web application development, Desktop Application development and so on...)
As far as I know Java has nothing to do with javascript except for the name Java. Javascript is a derivative of ECMAScript. Javascript is an interpreted language & the language of choice to manipulating DOM elements.
