You will have to the most innovative while answerin this.If it was asked to me ,i would say my favourite software is winrar and tell about the encryptions and all those about winrar and finally tell that the bug i found is about cracking it.as its simple enough to create a keygen to it ..i would follow the MS windows 8 security as its the best security system for a s/w given.so as it impress him also and tell him about the KMS(key management system) used in windows 8 eventhough ther are flaws in it.atleast he'll know that you know lot about microsoft.
