Amazon Interview Question for Software Engineer / Developers

it's all based on the concept of storage of data. The concept is used by the google for data storage on their site..they uses various memory cards placed in shelfs.

The clues that the interviewer gave me: (1) what classes do you need? (2) How to know if there are available parking spots when you get to the entrance? (3) How to implement a Valley parking

I was asked a similar question and I had no idea what the interviewer expected from me. My first thought was to draw a diagram of the building, but I was pretty sure that was not what the interviewer had in mind. After an awkward question and answer exchange, I still had little idea what I was supposed to do. I ended up assuming I was designing a control system for fully automated parking garage.I drew some boxes that represented potential software and/or hardware modules (gate, sign, ticket vending machine, etc) and lines that represented dependencies between them. I received feedback that I failed this question. Does anyone have an example of a good answer to questions like this one?
