I've got this question on campus interview the other day and ran out time. Since then, haven't heard from them ......:)

Point is that 1 and 8 have only one adjacent number, so, they should go in the middle of maze.

can somebody pictorially explain how the arrangement is marking each square by a prticular symbol. Say every square is being denoted by an 'x'.
