can anybody explain what does *head=NULL indicates whether its data part is empty or what ??

*head=NULL; it means *head pointer is pointing to null call as *head is called null pointer.

Because we are checking the address content of node that was whether pointed by HEAD or not.

The answer is simple node initially point to (nil) the *node=null will store inside (nil)<-null which is not possible as nil memory location does not exist.
