Guys..in windows environment which supports the GUI interface we can use the JConsole (Java monitoring and management console) which shows the memory usage, threads, CPU usage etc...
for newbie's just type jconsole in run command..

Will use different profiling tools like TPTP etc to test CPU profiling, heap memory sampling.. etc.

These profiling gives us idea abt the program beyond the functional aspects like the different bottleneck points, any object leaks etc.
