Virtual member functions declared with keyword virtual: allow dynamic binding of member functions. There would be exactly one v-table associated with a class that has at least one virtual function. The v-pointer of all of the class' objects would point to the class' v-table. The v-table itself has pointers to each of the virtual functions in the class. During a dispatch of a virtual function, the run-time system follows the object's v-pointer to the class's v-table, then follows the appropriate slot in the v-table to the method code.

A virtual method table, virtual function table, dispatch table, or vtable, is a mechanism used in a programming language to support dynamic dispatch (or run-time method binding).

It is a lookup table which contains the addresses of all the virtual functions present in a specific class. It will be different for base class and derived class. VPtr is there for every object which points to the class's VTable.
