Hey Richa...what is the position you are being interviewed for??...I was interviewed too last Tuesday for software engineer position..havn't yet heard back from them as yet.. I was asked almost similar questions as you were asked...

Even I had for software engineer position. Almost same question. Been 10 days , no repsonse. What was you location and recruiter ?

@ all, I never heard back from them..it looks like the position I was being interviewed for has not been filled yet, however, they have changed it to a normal software engineer position rather than a new-grad position. This being said, they still say that new grads are welcome..donno how much are they expecting out of a new grad??? My interview was very good..

Static variable means variable has file scope i.e. visible in the file it is declared. Once initialized it will live till program exits. Variable cannot be accessed in any other file.

Extern variable has global scope. It says variable may be declared in any other file but can be accessed.
