it stores a cookie on your computer, it has some personal information + identifiers needed, if you sign out the cookie is deleted.

Nothing is deleted -- they keep tracking you.

They keep the information that what web links you search and how frequently you look them. History of each day can store in cookies along with frequency. Then they can either maintain an LRU cache if they want to show adds on latest search or can keep the most frequent search in queue if add supposed to show on frequency. All information stores locally on your machine.
