likes come from people
people like/dislike what they are exposed to
exposure can come in many ways - since the face book context is set - the answer indicates native advertising.
ads have to be targeted (some face book algorithms to identify targets needed) - your audience is modelled as graph - since the vertices of this graph are people who can post/forward an ad there is no need to go deep (so BFS) - now some people are more likely to be hotspots for generating likes (by having awesome street cred, lot of followers...) - identify those hubs and target them with first round of inline advertising. Start another round for A/B test to generate response and analyze it - then based on results adjust course

The company can make its employees to support and post the add on facebook on their behalf. Each employee can have n number of friends who in turn may like the graph and as those friends like it is visible to the friends of friends and as the result the graph expands thus earning likes in facebook
