Hello everyone,

I know this sounds like a crap question. But I have a dilemma. I have two offers for SDE, amazon chennai and Samsung Noida. The compensation offered by amazon is quite better than that of samsung ofcourse.

But myself being a north indian, have a desire to move to north india as I know chennai will be a difficult place for me to adjust. But at the same time, as a company, I would like to join amazon- reasons are obvious.

My question is whether job location should be considered such an important factor or not? I just want opinions from people as it will help me to take my decision. Lot of people will come with an answer "depends on your choice". I know that. I am just seeking an opinion here. Any inputs are appreciated.

It is a question which can only be answered by YOU. Depends on what you consider important.

That said, location does matter (apart from the job and company).

Suppose you start a family. Would you like your kids raised there? If you decide to change jobs, and want to live there, how easy would it be to find another similar job? etc etc.

These type of questions only you can answer.

The question is not crap, but no one can answer it for you.

As I know samsung is not good in terms of work-life balance. you can also check out the company reviews before taking any decision.

Samsung Noida - Excellent work(embedded systems/android/mobile/chipsets/hardware level work)+lots..and lots..and lots of work+international exposure(u will be on travel internationally more than 6 mnths a year if on any commercialization project - good for travel lovers)...but less pay pkg compare to others.....u will get lots and lots and lots to learn in samsung

Amazon - work on web tech mostly..exposure limited..good work-life balance+good remunerations +less travel

This is my opinion ...its up to u now to decide
