hash table is a data structure which maps a key, the calculated array index, to its value,
now it might be possible that the calculation generates same value for two different keys , i.e. 35%4 and 39%4 map to same array indices, so during insertion this means that two elements want to get same array location (say 4).
this situation is called collision.

these collisions can be handled via open addressing and chaining.

chaining uses list approach , which means ease of insertion at same index, but while searching the list, complexity becomes dependent on the size of list. so O(1) is not guarenteed.
