I am not sure if i understood your question correctly.
But if there are more than one application accessing the singleton class, only 1 instance of the class will be created and then that instance will be passed onto the other application by reference.
So both the application will be working on the same instance.

Simple! Make a public function in base class that can access the private data members. All public methods can be accessed through the derived class.
